Immigrant William Buchanan (died 1817); came from Ireland about 1802; wife Jane; lived in Fermanagh Township, Mifflin County, PA as early as 1808. Later lived in Milford Township. These areas are now Juniata County, PA.

2. Alexander Buchanan; Although I do not have definite proof, I believe
this to be the same Alexander who moved to Ohio and then to Iowa. Date of
birth: May 19, 1795. Wife: Margaret Elizabeth Love. Died January 7, 1862 in
Muscatine County, Iowa. This Alexander had a brother Evans who was residing
with daughter of Alexander, Margaret Hobbs, in the 1880 Linn County, Iowa
Census.
3. Evans R. Buchanan; I believe this to be the same Evans Buchanan who
moved to Iowa and worked as a farmer. He appeared in the 1850 Benton County,
Iowa census with the Penrose family. From 1860-1880 he was listed in the Linn
County, Iowa Census. He died June 16, 1883 and was buried in Iowa.
4. John Buchanan; I believe this is the same John Buchanan listed as a
Stone Mason in tax and census records. He resided in Tuscarora Township, Juniata
County, PA in the 1850-60 Censuses. In the 1870 Census, he is residing in
Paterson Borough, Juniata County, PA. His wife is listed as Hannah.
