In photo at left, Johnny plays at the 2003 Smithsonian Folklife Festival in Washington D.C., just months before his death in New York.  At the festival, I had the delightful opportunity to see Johnny reunited & performing with his brother Phil and Dougie MacLean on the Millennium Stage of the Kennedy Center. Below, Johnny talks with fans on Broadway outside the Symphony Space Theater where he played with Kevin Burke, Christian LeMaitre and Tony McManus in 1998. A versatile fiddler, he was a member of the bands Silly Wizard, Nightnoise, and Relativity.

Johnny played the fiddle with a sweet sensitivity that defied his rugged, but lovable, exterior!  We miss you Johnny!
