OGL RA Team Modem
Duke had to play email tango for a week or so, but the OGL RA team is now official!   Look for us in the "Quake2 RA/Team Modem" section at the OGL page.

We are in urgent need of some volunteers to help setup and admin matches.   What do you have to do?   Contact other clans and try to get a time and server that pleases everyone.   Good luck! :P   Seriously, we need some people to help get things rolling around here.   Duke's busy jetting around the country and I'm busy keep the roster up-to-date. :)

If we can get a few people interested in this, it won't be such a big job.   Contact either Duke or me about volunteering.

Don't forget, weekly clan meeting tonight!   Topics: OGL RA modem team and the usual chit-chat.

New Member
Everyone welcome new member BlackFrag to the clan.   Make sure to gang-up on him and give him a virtual pink-belly during the weekly clan meeting.

Don't forget the new time and date for the clan meeting!   Sunday nights at 9:00 PM EST.   Hopefully my Gamesnet IRC server won't puke again. :)

Now back to more "performance testing" with Q3-Test!

Quake3 Test is out!!!
Quake3!

Yes, the long, long wait is over.   Quake 3 Test for Win32 has finally been released by id!   No longer will you have to think about purchasing a Mac or wonder just what the heck Linux is all about, the client binaries for Gate's baby are available.   Check you favorite software site for the long download.

Here's a link to the site from which I just d/led the big 22 Meg archive.   I got a nice d/l speed from there, YMMV.

q3test_1_05.exe

If you are using a regular FTP client and see those other files in the directory, don't worry about them.   They seem to be tons of openGL drivers for various cards.   I would imagine if you already have up-to-date drivers for your card, you should have no problems.

See you in the message boards for some chat about the new test.   Also looking forward to seeing some of you guys on a Q3 server, if the entire net is totally saturated right now. :)

New Day & Time for Weekly Clan Meeting
So more people can attend, the weekly clan meeting has been moved to Sundays at 9:00 PM EST.   Just a reminder, we hold our clan meetings on IRC, GamesNET, in channel "obc".   To join-in the fun, just use your favorite IRC client, like mIRC, connect to one of the GamesNET servers and type "obc" in the channel box.   Cya Sunday!

Mega LMCTF Event
Sally posted this in the message board. It might be of interest to the LMCTF fanatics.

From Crisis of CBD: "I just wanted to let you guys know that this Wednesday, 5/5/99, CBD is hosting a 64 player LMCTF public event.   Server is 134.53.238.192:27910, it will be running the LMCTF standard (1-30) maps, and will be public with no password.   Please bring as many in your clan as possible, and pass the word on to any other players you might know!   You can get LMCTF at www.planetquake.com/lmctf."

Meanwhile, Duke is looking for volunteers for the modem RA squad.   If RA tickles your fancy and you are willing to relinquish your "those damn LPBs" excuse, post a response to Duke's thread in the message board.
