Mike Frazer came to Pittsburgh in 1989
at the behest of consultant Rick Sklar (WABC fame), and spent his first
year at the former "Energy 105", WNRJ-FM. In 1990, Mike made the move to
3WS where he spent 10 years on the air in the afternoon. When sister station
104.7 "The Beat" (WJJJ-FM) signed on, Mike was asked to take over the morning
show on the new station. The station did not do as well as hoped and Mike
came back to 3WS afternoons in October 2001 and has been there ever since.
Although Mike had previous stops at WOLF in Syracuse, Mike Joseph's "Hot
Hits" Stations WFBL in Syracuse, WMAR-FM in Baltimore, and WCAU-FM in Philadelphia,
and also WEGX "Eagle 106" in Philly, the Brooklyn native has become a Pittsburgh
radio institution!
