On November 22, 1963, President John F. Kennedy was shot and killed in Dallas, Texas. Reaction in Pittsburgh was like that of the rest of the country. Shown is a picture from the November 23, 1963 Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

The caption read," A crowd gathers outside the street-level studio of Radio Station KQV to listen to the news. There was little conversation. People stood in silence and their faces were grim. What could they - or what could a nation - say?"

(Special thanks to Jason Togyer for providing this memory.)
