About Night Time America . . .

Night Time America with Bob Dearborn was a ground breaking show that brought syndicated radio into a whole new era.  Night Time America was heard nightly on the RKO Radio Network.

"Night Time America was the first live, daily, satellite-delivered music show in radio history. It came before SMN and Transtar and followed only Mutual's lead with all-night Talker Larry King in live, daily satellite - delivered radio shows. It was created, produced and hosted by me for the RKO Radio Networks from early January, 1981 until the end of my contract in 1984. At it's height, Night Time America was carried by 154 stations in markets from Bangor to Hilo, from Fairbanks to West Palm Beach, and major markets including Chicago , Detroit, Houston, Pittsburgh, St. Louis, Seattle, San Diego, Boston, Cincinnati, Memphis New Orleans, Hartford and Denver."

"During the first year of NTA, I was also the first host/producer of RKO's syndicated weekly "Countdown America." . . . Bob Dearborn

"I was one of the engineers on the history making Night Time America. It was one of the very best work expierences I have ever had. Bob is a great person, and I'm glad I had the opportinity to work with him. " . . . Dean DeSantis

"After a very illumintaing search, in which I talked to a lot of people, it was almost star-crossed that we found Bob.  It was a project looking for the right person, and he was a person looking for just the right project.  I'm really excited about it.". . . Jo Interrante, RKO Director of Programming in an article in Radio & Records, November 28, 1980

In the same article . . . "Needless to say, it's the opportunity of a lifetime. I've never been so thrilled reaching a position in this business." . . . "We're going to give it our best effort and try to do something that's never been done before." . . . Bob Dearborn
