Bernie Allen
Bernie Allen joined WLS for the 12:30 to 3:00 pm shift in June of 1963. Bernie replaced  Art Roberts, who moved to nights to replace Dick Biondi.

Bernie got his start in radio while in high school. He got his start in Chicago at WIND. He stayed there until 1961 when he moved over to WJJD. He got the callfrom WLS program Director Gene Taylor in 1963. It was Art Roberts who moved back to midday (10 - 2) when Bernie moved to weekends on WLS after John Rook became station pd. In 1971, Bernie Allen left WLS. Bernie went on to work at WCLR, WLAK and WCFL before returning to WJJD in the spring of 1983. He retired from WJJD in January 1990.
