It
is almost impossible to put into words exactly what Myron Cope meant to
so many people. From his days as a local sportswriter for the Post Gazette
to his award winning work for Sports Illustrated and the Saturday Evening
Post. As a broadcaster with his daily commentaries to his nightly sports
talk show on WTAE radio. And as an analyst for 35 years on the Pittsburgh
Steelers radio Network. Myron Cope led the Steelers Nation with the Terrible
Towel while at the same time raising millions of dollars for the Allegheny
Valley School.
The Pittsburgh Post Gazette's Gene Collier wrote a wonderful obituary on Myron Cope here. The Pittsburgh Post Gazette's Lizabeth Gray produced an excellent video tribute to Myron Cope here. |
