O'BRIEN AND GARRY

MONDAY - FRIDAY 5:00 AM to 10:00 AM

It took Larry O'Brien and John Garry a long time to get together as a team, but the results were certainly worth the wait. O'Brien and Garry met in 1961 at WTOD in Toledo where they worked separate shifts. The situation was repeated several years later at WGH in Norfolk. In 1972, both came to WTAE: O'Brien hosted mornings and Garry worked the afternoon shift. In the fall of 1974, John began dropping in on Larry's show while still working afternoons. The chemistry was there, and the following spring, the new team was officially launched on WTAE.

O'Brien and Garry, with their keen sense of humor and large cast of special characters have built a solid following for their morning show. Myron Cope On Sports Commentaries, Neal Spence Air Alert Traffic, DeNardo Weather, WTAE News Alan Boal and Kathy Kerestes and Pittsburgh's favorite round out the morning show. The O'Brien and Garry Show on WTAE is one of the most widely known and acclaimed shows in all of radio.

Many celebrities make the O'Brien and Garry show a 'must' while in Pittsburgh. Guests have included Lowell Thomas, Andy Griffith, Alex Karras, Martin Balsam, Edwin Newman, Henry Mancini, Joseph E. Levine and many others, including, of course, members of the World Champion Steelers and Pirates.

Pittsburgh listeners cannot afford to miss the fun, excitement and surprises with O'Brien and Garry mornings on WTAE.
