John Garry
John Garry passed away September
17. 2023 in Georgia. Along with Larry O'Brien, Garry began working
together in the mid-70s on WTAE Radio. O'Brien and Garry were known for
characters like Mr. Science and Jimmy, Tethers the Clown, Lt. Macho and
more. The duo first teamed up in 1975 while working separate shifts at
WTAE. The pair later transitioned to WHTX in 1983 before circling
back to WTAE in the 1990s. He was 91. |

Chuck Brinkman
Chuck Brinkman passed away
on August 24, 2018 at his home in Plano Texas, Chuck was the backbone of
the new WTAE when he arrived as the music director for Solid Gold TAE.
The man that introduced the Beatles to Pittsburgh when he was at KQV was
elected ino the Pittburgh Rock N Roll Hall of Fame in 2017.He was 83. |

Neal Spence
Neal F. Spence of Homosassa,
Florida, died May 25, 2023, at the age of 78 years. He was born November
27, 1944, in Pittsburgh, PA. He graduated from Baldwin High School. He
was an Air Force veteran and served in Vietnam. For 19 years he was WTAE's
"eye-in-the-sky" traffic reporter. He will be sorely missed by all those
who knew him. |

Winnie Bricker (Intrepid Scout)
On October 31, 2021, Winifred
E. Bricker, 81, of Fombell, beloved wife of 63 years to Donald Bricker,
passed away peacefully.
She was WTAE programming
secretary and part of the O'Brien & Garry morning team as Intrepid
Scout.
Survived by her loving
children, Mark (Sherry) Bricker, Jim (Marcia) Bricker, Isla (Roy Stitt)
Barker, Donnie (Laurie) Bricker, Hoot (Kelly) Bricker; brothers, Jack (Aggie)
Lewis and Fred (Denise) Lewis; grandchildren, Luke, Stacy, Jamie, Jeff,
Jay, Brooke, Cassidy, Lisa Marie, Maureen and Clay; great-grandchildren,
Jace, Landen, Harper and Emerson.. |

Don Berns
Don Berns passed away on
March 1, 2015. Don died at him home of a heart attack. Don was known as
Dr. Trance on the Toronto Rave Scene. He was also the network voice for
Global Television for many years, was the voice of TSN sports and was much
sought after for freelance voice work. Don was prominent as an actor in
Toronto theater. |

Kathy Kerestes
Kathy Kerestes passed away
on May 23, 2015. Kathy died at Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh. She
was a graduate of Point Park College. She started out at WESA in Charleroi
and moved on to WTAE and became the news anchor for the O'Brien & Garry
Show. For 12 years she was also a weekend reporter for WTAE-TV. She left
WTAE and became Director of Media and Community Relations at Carlow College.
She had just turned 61 on May19th. |
