Border Collie - A product of the border area between Scotland and England. His herding method is strong eyed as he moves the flock along by staring them into submission. Rugged, intelligent and full of life, he is most suited to an active lifestyle. (From Pet Notes, Bermuda Dunes, CA)
Lady (pictured below) was a rescue BC. She was three years old when we got her. She recently passed away at the age of 9. Jackie is our second BC we raised from 6 weeks. He is a very loving dog. Our first BC was Jesse. Jesse introduced us to the world or Border Collies which we have grown to love. The newest member of our family is Gracie. She is one of Jack's puppies. We have enjoyed watching Jack train her.
If you think you would like to own a border collie think twice. They are very demanding dogs. If you are not going to have one for herding sheep you must give your dog other types of work to do. Playing Frisbee, catching a ball, agility training, and learning new tricks are actually forms a work for these dogs. Remember to keep them busy and give them toys. If they don't have their own toys they will use your personal items as toys.
