T'AI CHI CHIH®

JOY THRU MOVEMENT

What will you learn when you attend a T'ai Chi Chih® class?

19 easy to learn movements and one posture

Requires no special physical abilities.

Standing movements done slowly and gently.

It is not a martial art nor is it a religion.

It brings great peace and serenity to those who practice regularly.

T'ai Chi Chih® practice is designed to develop internal energy and inner stability. T'ai Chi Chih® practice has been credited with providing positive effects on the blood pressure, weight control, stress management, and other physical and emotional aspects of life.

During class participants are given a brief history of T'ai Chi Chih, an explanation of intrinsic energy - Chi ' yin and yang, and how this energy is stored in the body to provide a healthy balance.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR

Margery Erickson has earned degrees from Pennsylvania State University and Millersville University in social science and special education. Her interest in T'ai Chi Chih began in 1993 while attending a Life Spectrums conference. She continued to practice T'ai Chi Chih for several years and found it helped her reduce stress, decrease arthritis pain and heal both past and more recent emotional wounds. In 1997 she became an accredited instructor and has taught classes in the Hanover area through Harrisburg Area Community College, the YWCA, the Hanover Wellness Connection, All Is Well, and the Lincoln Intermediate Unit #12 (where she was employed from 1987 to 2007). She is currently employed by Southern York School District as a learning support teacher.
