Our Fiber and Yarns!

Here you see a ball each of our yarn from our flocks consisting of both Columbia and NCWGA sheep. The darker yarn did not show up as beautifully heathered as it really is. The ram Larry was a very pretty black that when sheared had silvered cut ends which produced a varigated yarn ranging in color through black, brown, and silver. We also have the white in roving, batts, or raw fleeces. Our available fiberstash ranges through our various fibercritters; angora bunnies in a wide range of colors, angora goats in both adult and softer kid mohair, alpaca in both suri and huacaya and a variety of natural colors, as well as llama. Visit our other pages from our home page to see all our fibercritters. We have also done some dyeing of these fibers. I will post the weights of these balls of yarn as soon as Stamps.com sends my scales (which I ordered back in August.)

Alpaca Fiber

This is extremely long hand carded fiber in the basket and the rest is as yet uncarded in the fleece. All of this fiber is from our gorgeous grey female alpaca Plum Blossom. Look at the variety of color represented here from the same animal.

Handspun

Here you see a small sample of our fiber and handspun. The handspun ranges from natural dyes to natural to chemical dyed and plied with a contrasting color for a heathery effect in a knitted FO. The light turquoise fiber seen here in front is suri fiber I just tossed into the dyepot in an attempt to exhaust the pot. Also on the right of the pic there is a length of black German hybrid angora fiber. This fiber was carried around with my spindles too long in a plastic snack baggie and felted! However, I included it for a color reference. If you have a particular interest in handspun yarn but prefer to use that spun by others in order to focuss your creative energies on the end product, please feel free to give us a call or send us an email. We will be a happy to work with you in designing a custom hanspun yarn for you!
