You are welcome to visit Lake Heron, in Perry
County, Pennsylvania. Dean and Gail Stephens have owned the 200 plus acre
property since the mid-eighties. It is located 30 miles north of
Harrisburg, and 2 miles off U.S. route 11 & 15 at Liverpool. Available for
your use are: a pavilion with picnic tables, a privy, hiking trails, wildlife
habitat areas, areas for swimming, boat docks, and a primitive cabin.
There are three primitive campsites near the cabin. We have plans to
develop and improve the property to provide camping with RV hook-ups in the
future. Our goal is always to retain the quiet, natural environment.

| Lake Heron is a 9-acre, spring-fed lake
stocked with Largemouth Bass, Rock Bass, Catfish, and Bluegills. The
fishing is amazing! The average bass is 12-15”. Many of the
bluegills are enormous, and are a delicious pan fish. Catfish were stocked in
2004 and are still growing. Fishing is catch and release, except for the
Bluegills.
NEW for 2008: We have a "Fee Fishing Lake" License. See what this means for you on the Fishing at Lake Heron Page. Adjacent to the Lake Heron property is PA State Game Land No. 258, which provides hundreds of acres of additional land for your enjoyment. We are eager to share our paradise in Perry County with others, but at the same time maintain it's integrity and preserve it's natural beauty. We have adopted the following motto for those who visit us at Lake Heron: "Take nothing but pictures, leave nothing but footprints." |
