Fishing at Lake Heron

NEW for 2008:

We have a "Fee Fishing" License from the PA Fish and Boat Commission.

What this means for you:

  • NO fishing license is required

  • You may keep fish to eat for a fee of $7.50 per fish (Largemouth Bass or Channel Catfish)

  • Largemouth Bass may be harvested June 14 through October 31 only, with a minimum length of 15 inches, and a limit of 4 per person.

  • Barbless hooks are required for ALL fishing, whether you are keeping the fish or releasing them.

Lake Heron has Largemouth Bass, Channel Catfish, Rock Bass, and Bluegills.

Our fishing policy is still "catch and release", although you may choose to keep the fish as outlined above.   NO barbs on hooks for all fishing.

Please see "Catch and Release Guidelines"
