About The CPTHL

The Central Pennsylvania Table Hockey League was originally formed and brainchilded by Steve Dowell and Craig Sierak in 2004, it was intended as a back-up league when Craig and Steve were competing in Adam Zawislak's Atlantic Continental Tabley Hockey League. The two leagues soon became sister leagues, but when the ACTHL moved from Hoboken, New Jersey then dissolved, the CPTHL grew and spun off into it's present day size.
The Central Pennsyvania Table Hockey League is a "straight-up" (with some creative humor added), NO COST, NO FEES table hockey league. We stress quality hockey games as opposed to the quantity of games. Please view our Penalties and Regulations page.
Play occurs in the town of Marysville, home of the world's longest stone arch structure, the Rockville Bridge. Situated along the west banks of the beautiful Susquehanna River, Marysville is just north of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
From deep inside the Sierak Stadium Complex, we play very unique hockey in that a person may bring his or her own game for use as their home stadium. We are a "vintage oriented" league but, the game you bring may be any make or model; i.e., Coleco, Stiga, Munro, or any other slotted game during the regular season. When playoffs occur during the first Saturday of March, only vintage Coleco, Eagle, Munro, Tudor, or the Benej Tabletop games are allowed. We play a very relaxed method of table hockey in that we avoid the rigidity of multiple, simultaneous, "run by the clock" games.
Members meet on a monthly basis, starting our season on the 1st Saturday of October, then normalizing play for the 1st Saturday of every month, ending the regular season in February. The format we play creates a home-ice advantage causing our players to learn about the history of certain makes and each other's games, the manufactures who produced them, the operation of such games and different technics our players must use in finding ways to win and overcome certain odds each game presents to our players. Home and away games must be played by everyone. Games consist of two 5 minute periods. Players must switch ends after each period of play including playoffs and overtime games.
OUR CREDO: We the organizers of the CPTHL wish to create an atmosphere where players can experience playing upon many different games and that the recreation of table hockey not only be a game; not only a competition; not only about winning, but that CPTHL activities be a fun and true learning experience toward the various games of table hockey, the history/industry thereof and most importantly, comradeship and the cultivation of friendships toward the people who attend is strongly endorsed. We also eat lots of great food and have a wonderful league mother.
If you are an "out-of-towner" and are, or will be passing through the central Pennsylvania area, we welcome you to be a (special) guest player at one of our meets. Please view the remainder of this site for further information. We guarantee you a great time!
